Use case

Eurocode concrete member checks

Roiko checks reinforced concrete members to EN 1992 (Eurocode 2) on the same structural model it generates and analyses, in the same pass as the steel members to EN 1993 and the shallow foundations to EN 1997.

Concrete checked on the same model as the steel

Roiko generates a structural model from a plain-language description, runs finite-element analysis on it, builds the EN 1990 load combinations, and checks the members against the Eurocodes. Reinforced concrete members are checked to EN 1992, in the same pass as the steel members to EN 1993 and the shallow foundations to EN 1997.

Because the analysis model and the checked model are the same object, there is no re-entry step between them and no chance of the two drifting apart. The reports, the drawings and the material take-offs follow from that same model.

One design family, stated exactly

Roiko checks structures to the Eurocodes: steel members and column bases (EN 1993), reinforced concrete members (EN 1992), shallow foundations (EN 1997), load combinations (EN 1990), wind and snow actions (EN 1991) and seismic analysis (EN 1998).

Eurocode is the only design family implemented. Roiko does not check to AISC, ACI 318, IS 800 or AS/NZS — if a project needs one of those, that is worth telling the team, because what gets built next is driven by what projects actually require.

This page says no more than that on purpose: reinforced concrete members, to EN 1992. What each check covers is shown in the product itself, where every check stays open to inspection.

Who this is for

Few projects are one material. A steel frame stands on concrete foundations, and concrete and steel members meet in the same building. Roiko keeps them in one model and checks each to its own Eurocode, so a practice is not running two tools and reconciling two sets of results.

Roiko assists the engineer rather than replacing them. Every member, check and drawing stays open to inspection and change; the engineer stays in control of every decision.

Questions

Which code does Roiko use for concrete?
EN 1992, Eurocode 2, for reinforced concrete members. Eurocode is the only design family implemented — Roiko does not check to AISC, ACI 318, IS 800 or AS/NZS.
Are the concrete and steel checks run on the same model?
Yes. Roiko generates one model, analyses it, and checks the steel members to EN 1993, the reinforced concrete members to EN 1992 and the shallow foundations to EN 1997 on that same model. The reports, the drawings and the material take-offs come from it too.
